Spoiled rotten Joan (and Ray) picked up a new vehicle today. A 2009 Dodge Journey - Inferno Red. A really compact and loaded vehicle. We are going on a road trip next month so I’ll let you know how comfy it is. In the meantime, I am just plain jealous 
Well it is mid-August and we really haven’t had a summer. Rain, rain and humidity - oh, it’s been hot but that was extremely uncomfortable given the humidity levels. You couldn’t walk a foot without feeling clammy and sweaty.
Of course we here on the east coast are not the only ones who have experienced this ugly summer weather: the west has had poor weather, Ontario too - but who cares about them (hehehehe) and even Britain has had sucky weather.
Rob, Yuki and the girls were going to go camping for a week or so, but that got cancelled as Lisa came down with Chickenpox; but Rob said the weather was not great any way. Emma was quite jealous that Lisa had polka-dots and she didn’t, but now she has them too, and no longer finds them so "special". But everyone is glad they got that little treat out of the way before school starts again.
Here again, I have not been able to sit outside and read as much as I did last year, too hot, too humid, too rainy, too bad right?
Well I’m holding out for a decent fall - please!
Finally added some extra flowers to my planters. The pots on each end got some purple pansies, but I think they have a ways to go to catch up with the yellow ones Joan White planted just over a month ago.
Joan White doesn’t like to sit idle long, so as a project she went a-walking and came back with the necessary "supplies" to build an Inukshuk on my front walk. I also bought some small trees (3) for my planters (flowers will be added when it’s a bit warmer), although Joan did buy me some yellow pansies for one planter.

Yup, no kidding another birthday. This means free chequing at the bank woohoo!
And no, no grey hair, well at least for another 4 to 5 weeks (go Miss Clairol).
No major plans for the day
- lunch with Joan & Ray (fish & chips mmmmmm)
- a few phone calls with old friends
- a little shopping perhaps
While talking with Lisa (4 yr old granddaughter) this morning she asked if I was having a birthday cake. She seemed a little upset that I wasn’t having a cake. Well surprise, surprise, after our delicious lunch Joan & Ray surprised me with my favorite cake - Carrot Cake! So a good birthday after all, complete with birthday cake! THANKS JOAN & RAY!
